Uploading your own world to the server
This guide may have been written for an earlier version of Valheim. Some of the information (file paths, panel option names, commands) may no longer match the current state of the game.
Uploading your own world to a Valheim server takes a few steps. Here is a simple guide to help you understand how to do it:
Uploading a world step by step
Step 1: Find the folder on your computer where your Valheim world data is stored. This folder is usually located at:
C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds
Copy your world data files. Make sure you copy the files with the .db, .fwl, .fwlold and .db.old extensions.
Step 2: Upload the files to your Valheim server. You can do this through the Files tab at https://panel.tosthost.pl, or using the WinSCP program https://docs.tosthost.pl/paneltosthost/sftp-winscp
The world location on the server is
/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local
This is where you need to upload your world files.
Step 3: Select the world to load in the server settings.
In the Startup tab, in the WORLD NAME option, enter the name of your world. If the .db and .fwl file is called e.g. bieszczady.db, enter bieszczady in this field.
Remember! For the changes to take effect, restart the server.
